Barak: Ideological gap between faction members unbridgeable

Retiring Labor Chairman Ehud Barak wrote in his request to split from the party, which he submitted to the Knesset's House Committee: "We believe that the future of the Labor party hinges on its return to Mapai origins and Ben-Gurion doctrine, which is located at the center of the political map.
"The ideological gap between the faction members is unbridgeable. In reality, two separate factions have been created," he wrote in his request. (Roni Sofer and Attila Somfalvi)
