Minister Shalom: Labor division weakens Israeli democracy

Minister Silvan Shalom commented on the split of the Labor Party, and said that it highlighted the importance of a reform in the government system.
"The division in the Labor Party is not good for Israeli democracy, and weakens it. The whirlwind in the political apparatus stresses the importance of overhauling the government system in Israel. The threshold must be lifted beginning with the next Knesset. This will limit the number of parties and strengthen their status," he said. (Attila Somfalvi)
