The FBI says an explosive device was found along the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade route in Spokane, Washington. The FBI confirmed Tuesday that a backpack found Monday morning inside a backpack on a bench posed a credible threat. The FBI says an explosion could have caused multiple deaths.
The backpack was found by an employee of the eastern Washington city before the parade. The FBI told KXLY that the device was successfully disposed of by its explosives unit. No one was injured. The FBI is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of people responsible for placing the device. (AP)
