Israeli UN ambassador to boycott discussion of PA proposal

The Israeli Permanent Mission to the UN, headed by Meiron Reuven, will not participate in the upcoming Security Council discussion of the Middle East, during which the Palestinian Authority will present a draft of a proposal to condemn Israel for continuing to build in the settlements. The issue will not be voted on during the meeting.

The Israeli mission will avoid the debate because of the strike in the Foreign Ministry. Israeli and Palestinian representatives usually take part in the monthly discussion of Middle East affairs, in addition to representatives of other Arab nations. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
