A Vietnamese journalist says one of her colleagues has suffered severe burns after an intruder broke into his house, doused him with chemicals and set him on fire while he was sleeping. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Mai of the Laborer newspaper says fellow reporter Le Hoang Hung, 51, suffered burns on about half his body following the attack early Wednesday. The paper quoted him as saying he had no enemies and no idea who would have attacked him.
A doctor at Cho Ray Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City says Hung is in stable condition and talking, but that he has third-degree burns covering about 20 percent of his body and that complications from the burns could be life-threatening. The doctor gave his name only as Tien. Police are investigating. (AP)
