French FM: Palestinian state as soon as possible
French Foreign Minister Michele Alliot-Marie said her country does not recognize the legitimacy of the settlements and called on Israel to halt construction in the West Bank.
Alliot-Marie, who visited Israel and Gaza Friday, said France "supports the establishment of an independent and democratic Palestinian state as soon as possible." (Elior Levy)
