2 Palestinians shot after breaking through IDF checkpoint

Laborers, both in their 20s, shot near Hebron after breaking through army position; their condition unclear

Two Palestinian laborers were injured from IDF fire Sunday morning in the village of Ramadin, located south of Hebron in the West Bank, Palestinian sources reported.

The Israeli army said soldiers opened fire on the Palestinians when they broke through a checkpoint.

According to the report, the injured Palestinians, both in their 20s, were evacuated to a hospital in Hebron. There condition remains unclear.

On Thursday night an Arab-Israeli was critically wounded when IDF soldiers opened fire on his vehicle near a checkpoint in the Hebron area.

For reasons that remained unclear, soldiers manning the checkpoint thought the driver was going to run them over so they opened fire. The driver was shot in the head.

The incident occurred at an impromptu roadblock set up by reservist soldiers checking for stolen cars on Route 60, the Hebron-Jerusalem road.

The injured man was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
