Document: Olmert proposed to take in 5,000 Palestinian refugees

Documents published by Al Jazeera revealed an arrangement that then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert proposed in 2008 to the Palestinian negation team. According to the report, Israel agreed to recognize the suffering of Palestinian refugees, but not take responsibility for it. Olmert also agreed to take in 5,000 of these refugees into Israel as a humanitarian gesture.
