Jumblatt backs Mikati to form Lebanon government

Lebanon's Druze leader Walid Jumblatt said he backed Najib Mikati in talks to name a new prime minister on Monday, giving him the parliamentary majority to lead a new government.

A two-day consultation to choose a new prime minister began on Monday. Mikati is a candidate for the premiership supported by the Shiite movement Hezbollah and its allies who have 57 seats in parliament. (Reuters)
