Foreign Ministry: PA embassy in Ireland does not promote peace

A Foreign Ministry spokesman has addressed the Irish government's upgrade of the Palestinian delegation there to embassy status, by noting that while the State disapproves of the move, it was not surprising given Ireland's slanted policy towards the conflict.

"The Irish measure does not move the peace process forward because it affirms the Palestinian illusion that they can further their goals without returning to the negotiation table," said Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman for domestic media, Yossi Levi. (Ronen Medzini)
