US asks EU to consider Iran abuse-sanction link

The United States said the European Union should think about broadening its sanctions against Iran to include measures targeting officials responsible for human rights violations.

A senior US diplomat, who met EU officials in Brussels on Tuesday, said Washington was keen to show the impact of wider sanctions, but did not elaborate. (Reuters)
