Legal source: Galant likely won't be appointed chief of staff
Following the State Comptroller's report on the land affair involving Major-General Yoav Galant, a senior legal source told Ynet it appears the high ranking officer will not be appointed IDF chief of staff. "The attorney general will have a tough time trying to defend Galant's appointment in the High Court of Justice. According to the Comptroller's findings, Galant did not state the truth before the court and that is very serious."
The senior source said that one cannot condone such conduct on the part of a person slated to be chief of staff. (Aviad Glickman)
