State officials: Galant may announce retirement
The Prime Minister's Office refused to issue an official comment on the land affair involving Major-General Yoav Galant, however senior state officials noted the decision is at the hands of the attorney general.
State officials are not ruling out the possibility that Galant will decide to pass up the role of IDF chief of staff. "In these ranks, one doesn't inform a person he is no longer a candidate," a senior official in the PM's Office said. "You give respect and allow them to announce their own retirement."
