Mubarak asks cabinet to resign

None

Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak asked his government to resign Friday night, at the end of a day of violent protests which claimed the lives of at least 20 demonstrators.

"I support the citizens' future, but Egypt's security as well," the president said in a televised speech. "I won't let anything threaten peace, the rule of law and the country's future." (Roee Nahmias)
