Swastikas outside Holocaust foundation conference

Foundation chairman says incident 'proves we must continue to educate and instill Holocaust-related knowledge, values in younger generation'

The organizers of a Foundation for the Benefit of Holocaust Victims in Israel conference were shocked to discover swastikas drawn on the walls of the south Tel Aviv building in which the event was held on Monday.
Foundation employees who organized the conference for social workers in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area said three swastikas were scribbled beneath the organization's emblem. The participants' attempt to track down the perpetrators came up empty.
Workers from a nearby Discount Bank branch painted over the anti-Semitic graffiti.
"As people who deal with Holocaust survivors on a daily basis, the appalling phenomenon of swastikas in Tel Aviv proves we must continue to educate and instill the knowledge and values related to the Holocaust in the younger generation," the foundation's director said.
"I choose to believe that this incident was isolated and not part of a broader phenomenon," he said.
