Defense Minister Ehud Barak stated that he is 'saddened and disappointed" by the Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein's decision not to back the appointment of General Yoav Galant to the role of Chief of Staff.
"General Galant is the most suitable person to command the IDF at this time. I thought and still think that Galant has the ability, experience, bravery and vision necessary to command the IDF," Barak noted following Weinstein's announcement to the High Court over the Galant affair. The defense minister added: "I disagree with the Attorney General's decision but I respect it." (Attila Somfalvi and Hanan Greenberg)
