Army: 3 killed in Mauritania car explosion
Three suspected terrorists were killed and eight soldiers were wounded when security forces opened fire on a car loaded with explosives as it attempted to speed into the Mauritanian capital early Wednesday, an official said.
The car was the second in a convoy attempting to lead a kamikaze attack in the capital, an army colonel told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not permitted to speak to the press. (AP)
