Knesset committee: Extend Ashkenazi's term as IDF chief
The Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee has decided to call on the government not to approve the temporary appointment of Major-General Yair Naveh as the chief of staff's replacement, but rather to extend Lieutenant-General Gabi Ashkenazi's term.
The committee's discussion revealed that there is no legal definition for an "acting chief of staff". (Attila Somfalvi)
