Witness: Mubarak backers with knives head to square
Supporters of President Hosni Mubarak carrying knives and sticks moved back in the direction of Tahrir Square on Thursday after a day and night of violence against anti-government protesters, a witness said.
The crowd of Mubarak backers were moving from the Cairo district of Giza in the direction of Tahrir, which sits on the opposite side of the Nile. (Reuters)
