Palestinians ban 1 Egypt protest, permit another

The Palestinian Authority has broken up a demonstration supporting the Egyptian people, while permitting a smaller protest in support of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak - drawing accusations it is picking sides in the Egyptian upheaval.

Freelance journalist Mohammed Jaradat says police dispersed a gathering of more than 100 people late Wednesday in downtown Ramallah. He says he and three other journalists were detained, including a cameraman whose footage was taken. (AP)
