Hundreds of Jordanians call for PM's ouster

Hundreds of Jordanians have staged a protest against Jordan's new prime minister who was named just days earlier in response to anti-government marches. The leader of Jordan's main Muslim opposition group has said he wants to give the new prime minister a chance to form his Cabinet.

However, more than 1,000 of his followers and other government opponents marched in the capital of Amman on Friday, calling for the ouster of Marouf al-Bakhit. Islamist and leftist activists are protesting near the prime minister's office and in downtown Amman. They are chanting, "Down with the government." (AP)
