Galant appeals to High Court
General Yoav Galant appealed to the High Court of Justice on Sunday against the decision to cancel his appointment to the role of Chief of Staff following the Attorney General's decision not to back the appointment over the Moshav Amikam land affair.
Galant has requested that the judges issue an interim order to freeze the appointment process in order to allow the Turkel committee to reconsider his candidacy. The government is expected to cancel Galant's appointment following the prime minister and defense minister's decision to appoint General Benny Gantz to the role of Chief of Staff. (Aviad Glickman)
