Barak to meet defense committee to discuss Galant affair

Defense Minister Ehud Barak is expected to meet Monday with selected Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee members to discuss the appointment of the next IDF chief of staff and the accusations made against outgoing Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi. Committee Chairman Shaul Mofaz requested the meeting. Barak initially declined to meet because of the short notice, according to him.
Therefore the committee postponed the meeting set for Monday with the former IDF chief of staff candidate Yoav Galant. (Roni Sofer)
