Swede convicted in Auschwitz theft sent to Sweden

Polish police say a Swedish man convicted in the theft of the notorious "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign from Auschwitz is being returned to his homeland to serve his prison term.

Police spokesman Dariusz Nowak says Anders Hogstrom was handed to Swedish officials on Monday at Krakow airport. (AP)
