Palestinians to hold municipal elections on July 9
The Palestinian Authority says the municipal elections in the West Bank and Gaza Strip will be held on July 9.
The elections have been postponed so far due to Hamas' refusal to hold elections as long as the reconciliation talks with Fatah are ongoing. According to estimates, the decision to hold the election stems from the recent uprising in Egypt. (Elior Levy)
