Fence along Egyptian border to be ready by end of 2012

The construction of a barrier along the Israeli-Egyptian border will be completed by the end of 2012 - six months earlier than the original deadline - Defense Ministry director Udi Shani said Tuesday during a tour of the area.

Work on the barrier is being performed on six segments simultaneously, resulting in a significant drop in the number of infiltrators into Israel. (Hanan Greenberg)
