IDF spokesman: Netanyahu wants to enlist hackers
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to give the IDF Spokesperson's Office a budget for the training of 120 "new media fighters", Spokesman Brigadier-General Avi Benayahu told the Herzliya Conference. He said Netanyahu wanted the office to enlist "little hackers who were born and raised online".
Benayahu said the internet had had a significant effect on recent uprisings in Arab countries and that "we cannot but be impressed at how one cell phone camera can harm a regime more than any intelligence agency's operations". (Boaz Fyler)
