Greek oil tanker confirmed hijacked off Oman

Armed men seized the Greek-flagged crude oil tanker Irene SL on Wednesday morning off the coast of Oman, the vessel's manager said.

The ship was on route from Kuwait to the US Gulf. "This morning the vessel was attacked by armed men," Piraeus based company Enesel said in a statement sent to Reuters, confirming earlier reports from shipbrokers. "For the moment there is no communication with the vessel." (Reuters)
