WikiLeaks: Mubarak warned toppling Saddam would bolster Iran
Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak advised the US not to invade Iraq for fear it would strengthen Iran, according to a leaked diplomatic document from 2009 which was published by WikiLeaks.
According to the memo, Mubarak told former US Vice President Dick Cheney that "Iraq needs a string leader – and toppling Saddam Hussein would open the gate for Iran." (Ynet)
