Ashkenazi: IDF focused on its missions

"In my last days as IDF chief of staff, I am dealing both with security and assisting the next chief of staff, Major General Benny Gantz – assuming that there are not last minute changes," outgoing IDF chief Major General Gabi Ashkenazi told military reporters in a farewell speech.

"I wish Gantz success," he added. "I am saddened by the events that took place recently… but I think that the IDF is stronger than all these proceedings, and is focused on its missions… as a citizen, I know that I am leaving the IDF in professional hands." (Hanan Greenberg)
