200,000 protesters gather at Tahrir Square

Nearly 200,000 demonstrators rallied at Tahrir Square in Cairo before expected speech by President Hosni Mubarak on Thursday. 

"The people brought down the regime!" They chanted, when rumors circulated about a possible takeover by the army. (AFP)
