US President Barack Obama met with his national security team on Friday before he was due to speak to reporters about developments in Egypt, the White House said.
Obama had been due to speak earlier in the afternoon, but his remarks were delayed because he was in the White House Situation Room meeting with his national security team. He also dropped by a previously scheduled meeting of top aides convened by his national security adviser, Tom Donilon, to discuss developments in Egypt, the White House said. (Reuters)
