Outgoing IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi said Monday: "In my last moments as chief of staff I hope and believe that I did everything in my power to do my part in protecting the state."
Speaking at the induction ceremony of Benny Gantz, Ashkenazi said: "I acted in the spirit of Rabin who said one doesn’t build a state on newspaper headlines, but on little, mundane acts." (Omri Efraim)
