Defense Minister approves appointments of 50 high ranking IDF officers

Defense Minister Ehud Barak approved on Thursday the appointments of 50 colonels and brigadier-generals for various positions, including division commanders and military attaches in foreign countries.
These appointments were discussed during the former IDF chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi's term, but were only approved now by Barak. The defense minister is also expected to approve 100 more similar appointments in the future. (Hanan Greenberg)
