Prosecution demands long prison sentence for Katsav
None
The prosecution in former President Moshe Katsav's trial has demanded the court to sentence him to a long prison term followed by a probation period, accuse him of moral turpitude and demand him to pay a fine. The prosecution claimed that there are no grounds to lessen his punishment, since he did not express regret for his actions.
Katsav's defense, on the other hand, claimed that in light of his "demonization" in the media and the harsh statements made by public figures, the former president should not be sentenced to time in prison. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
