Peres meets with Spanish PM

During a joint meeting Tuesday, Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero told President Shimon Peres that Spain was interested in expanding strategic ties with Israel beyond issues concerning the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Peres is in Spain to honor 25 years of diplomatic relations between the countries.
At the beginning of the meeting, Zapatero stated that Spain is honored to host "one of the world's greatest statesmen". Earlier Peres met with King Juan Carlos. (Ynet)
