France hopes Gaddafi rule in last moments

French Defence Minister Alain Juppe said on Thursday he hoped Muammar Gaddafi's time as leader of Libya was coming to an end.

"I hope wholeheartedly Gaddafi is living his last moments as leader," Juppe said in an interview on France Inter radio where he repeated French calls for sanctions after Gadaffi's bloody crackdown on the revolt in Libya. (Reuters)
