Man suspected of trying to smuggle Palestinian in to Israel

A 33-year-old man from Afula is accused of trying to smuggle a Palestinian in the trunk of his car into Israeli territory. When he reached a checkpoint, the suspected attempted to drive through it and run away, but instead he entered a dead-end parking-lot and was caught.

During his investigation, them man denied the accusations and claimed the Palestinian might have entered his trunk when he stopped in a Samaria village. The Palestinian claimed he paid the suspect NIS 200 ($54) to smuggle him into Israel. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
