FM agrees to raise minimum wages
Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz approved Histadrut Chairman Ofer Eini's proposal to raise the minimum monthly wages for employees of both the public and the private sector from NIS 3,850 to NIS 4,300.
The measure will be implemented in two parts; the wages will first be raised to NIS 4,100 in July 2011, then to NIS 4,300 in October 2012. (Avital Lahav)
