Bahrain's Shiite opposition set to talk to rulers
A leading member of Bahrain's Shiite opposition says political groups challenging the Sunni monarchy's grip on power in the Gulf nation are ready to talk to the rulers about change.
Abdul Jalil Khalil says the opposition will accept the crown prince's invitation for dialogue after two weeks of street protests in the strategic island nation, which hosts the US Navy's 5th Fleet. Khalil says the opposition will present its demands and a "framework for dialogue" on Thursday. (AP)
