President Barack Obama expressed "deep regret" over an air strike that killed nine Afghan children in a video teleconference with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.
They agreed in the call, which took place on Wednesday, that such incidents undermine shared efforts in fighting terrorism, the White House said on Thursday."Both leaders agreed that the United States and Afghanistan should continue to work together to advance a political outcome to the war in Afghanistan and President Obama reaffirmed his support for an Afghan-led political process," the White House said in a statement.
