Abbas: Situation in PA is very stable
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said in an interview with the newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat that the situation at the Palestinian territories is very stable, and noted that the PA has nothing to worry about in light of the unrest spreading across the Middle East. He added that the PA is the only entity in the Arab world that allows its nationals to hold protests.
Addressing the elections that are scheduled to take place in the PA in September, Abbas said that they should not be held, considering the rift between Hamas and Fatah, and the disconnect of the Gaza Strip. (Roi Kais)
