EU: Libya calls for UN probe into violence

The Libyan government is calling on the United Nations to dispatch a fact-finding team to investigate the violence during the country's bloody uprising, a senior EU official said Tuesday.

The official, who returned from Tripoli late Monday, said top leaders at the Libyan foreign ministry offered the mission free travel throughout the nation and would provide security for its members. (AP)
