Libya: Heavy shelling heard west of Ras Lanouf

Heavy shelling sounded west of the Libyan city Ras Lanouf, an AFP reporter said. The city is considered the stronghold of the Libyan opposition forces. It is located east of Tripoli, which is under Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's control. (AFP)
