Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said in a speech marking International Women's Day that the road to the integration of women in the parliamentary body is long, and that "the number of female Knesset members is still low compared to their number in society."
Reuven also noted in the speech, which opened the plenum meeting, that the number of female MKs has almost doubled since the first Knesset, where 12 women served. (Roni Sofer)
