A tour bus traveling down a major highway in New York was clipped by a tractor trailer, flipped onto its side and was sliced in half by the support pole for a large sign Saturday, killing 13 people and critically injuring six others, authorities said.
The crash at 5:30 am (1030 GMT) in the Bronx left a scene of carnage and closed the southbound side of Interstate-95 for hours while emergency workers attended to critically injured survivors. Police began a hunt for the driver of the tractor trailer, which did not stop after the crash, New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne said. (AP)
