Foreign Ministry: Avoid Tokyo and quake hit areas

The Foreign Ministry issued a travel warning to Israelis in Japan and called on them to avoid Tokyo if possible in light of the damages to infrastructure, transportation and essential services. They have also been asked not to go near the coastal areas hit by the quake and tsunami.

The ministry noted that the international airport in Tokyo was now open to flights but that there are many delays and schedule disruptions. They also instructed Israelis to obey Japanese authorities, follow media news updates and turn to the embassy, which continues to function as usual, for any information. (Ronen Medzini)
