The Southern District Prosecution filed charges against two teenagers from Rahat for the murder of their classmate and neighbor, the 16-year-old Qais Abu Siam. According to the charge sheet, the two planned to harm the teen because they were jealous of him, and also because they wanted to get in trouble with the law in order to stop studying at the Rahat School for the Gifted.
The perpetrators stabbed the Abu Siam to death, then burned his body. The two are also accused of conspiring to commit a crime, destroying evidence and disrupting court proceedings. (Ilana Curiel)
