Egypt imprisons Mubarak ally over attacks

None

Egypt has jailed an ex-lawmaker from the former ruling party on charges of ordering a brutal attack on protesters during the country's 18-day uprising that ousted longtime leader Hosni Mubarak.

Prosecutor General Abdel Maguid Mahmoud ordered the imprisonment of Abdel Naser al-Jabri, suspected to be among officials who unleashed Mubarak loyalists on horses and camels that charged into the protest encampment on a central Cairo square with whips and swords, attacking demonstrators.
