Mike Hammer named new State Department spokesman
The new US State Department's spokesperson is Mike Hammer, who served as the National Security Council spokesman prior to being appointed as deputy spokesperson at the State Department.
Hammer will be replacing P.J. Crowley, who quit on Sunday after causing a stir by describing the military's treatment of the suspected WikiLeaks leaker as "ridiculous" and "stupid." (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
